Anesthesiology

Anesthesia and Analgesia Department at Lakeshore Animal Health Partners (Mississauga)

Anesthesia is a controlled procedure where patients are placed in an artificial state of sleep or unconsciousness so procedures can be performed to benefit their health. The Lakeshore Animal Health Partners Anesthesia and Analgesia department has board-certified veterinary anesthesiologists who provide this care to our entire hospital, similar to a human hospital. The department works in conjunction with all the other departments in our hospital to ensure that no matter what reason your pet is being cared for in our hospital, they are cared for with the highest level of expertise before, during, and after their procedure or diagnostics.

We are lucky to house state-of-the-art equipment including ventilators, nerve stimulators, portable ultrasound machines, and multiparameter monitors. Anesthetic records are synced to our in-house electronic medical record to ensure all our clinicians have access to your pet’s medical record at any time. Each dog and cat receives an individualized anesthetic and monitoring plan that is catered to their unique disease process and/or medical history to ensure a safe, stress-free, and pain-free anesthesia experience.
