Location: Toronto Animal Health Partners in North York, ON
Hi! My name is Alice (WeiZhe) Yang. I was born and raised in Beijing, China, and then my family and I moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2012, which is where they live now.
I went to undergrad at UBC, then vet school at Ross in the Caribbean for 3 years, then 1 clinical year in Baton Rouge at the LSU teaching hospital. Last year I moved to Los Angeles for my rotating internship, and I'm excited to be coming back to Canada (although further from home) for my neurology specialty internship here in Toronto.
My professional interests (other than neurology) include critical care, exotic/zoo medicine, and wildlife rehab. In my free time, I love going out and hanging with friends, exploring the city, and trying new restaurants/bars. I enjoy scenic hikes (if they're easy), and going to the beach!!! When I'm at home I like to play cozy games and watch anime. I have a 7-year-old toy poodle x bichon frise x land shark mix named Dongdong, since leaving home for vet school, he has become more of a family pet (aka my parents' third child). I also adopted 2 stray cats in vet school, their names are Mr. Penguin and Miso, they have been traveling with me from St. Kitts to Lousianna to LA and they'll be coming to Toronto.
I have never lived in Toronto but I am excited to meet my new friends and colleagues at AHP!
