Dr. Graeme Michael Doodnaught

Dr. Doodnaught is the Medical Director at Lakeshore Animal Health Partners, where his role is to support the team in providing the best possible care for every patient. Originally from Toronto, his career has since taken him through Scotland, Québec, and the U.S. before bringing him back home. Those experiences gave him the chance to see how different hospitals approach veterinary medicine, and they shaped his belief that the best results come from strong teamwork, clear communication, and a hospital culture that puts patients first.

Alongside his leadership role, Graeme is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist with extensive experience managing anesthesia for complex and high-risk patients. He has a particular interest in optimizing perioperative monitoring, tailoring protocols to individual patients, and advancing multimodal pain management strategies. His goal is always to balance safety and comfort while supporting the broader surgical and medical teams.

Outside the hospital, Graeme and his wife, Caroline (a veterinary clinical pathologist), enjoy life with their daughter and a lively household of dogs and cats. He also finds time for golf, cycling, and cooking.
